Lyman Fletcher Williams Sr.

Home going services for Mr. Lyman Fletcher Williams Sr., 79, of Gainesville, Georgia will be held, Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, 1:30 pm Antioch Baptist Church located on 1010 Mill St., Gainesville, Ga. 30501. Remains will be placed in state at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Rodney A. Lackey, will officiate. Interment Alta Vista Cemetery, 521 Jones St., Gainesville, Ga. 30501.

Visitation will be Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012 from 1-5 p.m. at Young's Funeral Home, 1553 Old Athens Rd., Gainesville, Ga. Wake services 6-8 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 1010 Mill St. Gainesville, Ga. 30501.

Family will assemble at 1039 Jordan Dr., Gainesville, Ga., at 12:30 p.m. on the day of the service.

Mr. Lyman Fletcher Williams, Sr. was called home on Jan. 18, 2012 to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born on Nov. 28, 1932 to the late Mr. Fletcher Williams and Ms. Fannie Mae Tabor. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Williams and Robert Lee Williams; his son, Harold Williams; and his daughter, Anita Ann Williams.

Mr. Lyman accepted Christ at an early age. He had a deep love for Christ, his family, friends and his church family. Mr. Lyman was truly committed to his wife and soul mate, Mrs. Annie Williams. Together they were blessed with 58 years of marriage. This union was blessed with six children, and three that they raised from childhood.

For many years Mr. Lyman was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served on the Deacons Ministry and the Finance Committee.

Mr. Lyman worked in the textile manufacturing industry for over 40 years. He also was an entrepreneur in the paper board recycling business and in real estate.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Mrs. Annie Williams; sons, Lyman Jr. (Lisa), Ricky (Diane), Terry (Evonne), Dante (Virginia), Adrian Young, Andrea Williams, and Shanquis Williams, all of Gainesville; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; a special loving family member, Terica Branch; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
