Linda Hinds Roberts

hLinda Hinds Roberts, age 66, of Buford, GA passed away January 19, 2012. She was born January 25, 1945 in Chattanooga, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, CWO William T. Hinds, U.S. Army Ret., and Ethel Edwards Hinds, of Chattanooga, TN, and her beloved sister, Edna Hinds Nestlehutt of Canton, GA. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Walter Winston Roberts. She and Walter were members of North Metro First Baptist Church in Lawrenceville for 27 years. Linda is also survived by her daughter, Kelley Nicole Allen Ganas and her husband, Jeffrey Scott Ganas; and grandchildren, Holden Makanalani Berg, Noah William Berg, Taylor Nicole Ganas and Jonathan Scott Ganas, all of Buford. Extended family including Michelle Roberts Matthews and grandsons Carter Lee Matthews and Evan Vincent Matthews; Walter Winston "Chip" Roberts, Jr, his wife, Charlene and grandchildren Ella Jane Roberts and Walter Winston Roberts, III of Mobile, AL; Russell Taylor Allen of Athens, Ga, Lauren Paige Allen of Atlanta, Ga; brother-in-law, Michael H. Nestlehutt, nephew Michael Jeffrey Nestlehutt, nieces Stacie Renee Nestlehutt, Amy Paige Ross and her husband Marty, Nancy Amanda Nelson and her husband, Joey, and great-nephew, Jonathan-Michael Martin Ross, all of Canton, Ga; brothers-in-law William Sherral Roberts of Montgomery, AL and Hubert Claude Roberts and his wife Carolyn of Jefferson, Ga; aunts and uncles, Charles L. and Virginia Edwards Payne, of Chattanooga, TN , Robert A. and Betsy Edwards of Lawrenceville, Ga, and William O. and Bobbie Edwards of Branden, FL, and her very special friends, Dean and Harold Andrews of Jefferson, Ga, and Renee and Doug Weaver of Thomaston, Ga.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 1:00pm at North Metro First Baptist Church, 1026 Old Peachtree Road, Lawrenceville, Ga, with Dr. Frank Cox of North Metro First Baptist Church, Dr. Carl Marshall of First Baptist Church of Colquitt, Ga and Dr. Steve Andrews of First Baptist Church of Alabaster, AL; officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens, 3481 Hamilton Mill Road, Buford, Ga.

The family will receive friends at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel on Friday, January 20th from 2pm to 4pm and from 6pm to 8pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to North Metro Baptist Church, 1026 Old Peachtree Road, Lawrenceville, Ga 30043 or to Emory University Research Center for Pulmonary Fibrosis.
