Charles E. Buffington

Mr. Edward Charles Buffington age 77 of Gainesville, passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 16, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Memorial Park with internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Robby Ledford and Katie Glover will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Buffington was born on November 24, 1934 in Hall County to the late Smith Buffington and Georgia Wilson Buffington. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the Untied States Navy for 4 years, and retired from Reliance Electric after 24 years of service. Mr. Buffington was preceded in death by his parents, Smith and Georgia Buffington, sister and brother-in-law, Margie and Otis Williams.

Mr. Buffington is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Buffington of Gainesville, daughter and son-in-law, Don and Judy Eger of Lula , step-son's and wives, Danny and Diane Gilleland of Flowery Branch and Donny and Michelle Gilleland of Flowery Branch, brother and sister-in-law, William and Faye Buffington of Gainesville, sisters and brother-in-laws, Emma Lou and William Weldon of Jefferson, Patricia and Randy Doss of Gainesville, Gennell (Okelly) and Gene Kiser of Gainesville, one living aunt, Azzie Buffington of Gillsville, a number of grand-children and great- grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
