James Lendy Watkins

James "Lendy" Watkins, age 68, of Murrayville, Georgia, passed away, Friday, January 13, 2012 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, January 16, 2012 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The Reverend Keith Allison and Reverend Scott Culpepper will officiate. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8:30 pm Sunday, January 15, 2012 at the funeral home.

Mr. Watkins was born August 3, 1943 in Gainesville Georgia and was the son of the late W.T. Watkins and Nellie Reed Watkins. He was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church in Habersham County and grew up in Chestnut Mountain. He was retired from Allied Systems after 36 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Dean) Watkins of Murrayville; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Ron Bagley also of Murrayville; son, Chad Watkins of Cumming; grandchildren, Amanda Bagley, Ashley Bagley and Erin Bagley; brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Linda Watkins of Chestnut Mountain; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John Carter of Gainesville; sister, Daisy Watkins also of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Wilburn Palmer of Gainesville.

Mr. Watkins was a devoted husband to Carolyn Dean Watkins for 48 years. He was a loving father to his children, a wonderful grandfather, and a loyal friend to many.
