Sarah Lou Henson Mangum

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 14, 2012, in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home for Mrs. Sarah Lou Henson Mangum, 83, of Gainesville. Rev. Fletcher Law will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Born on May 14, 1928, in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Ponce de Leon and Fannie Arthur Henson. She was retired after 44 years of service with Bellsouth, a member of Central Baptist Church and a member of Lanier Shrinettes and Telephone Pioneers.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Leon Henson, Ronnie Henson and Billy Henson.

Mrs. Mangum is survived by her husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Mangum of Gainesville; daughter, Gail Mangum of Gainesville; sisters, Jean Pless of Gainesville, Joan Owenby of Demorest, Sandra Gaither of Gainesville; brother, James "Jim" Henson and his wife Sara of Gainesville and several nieces and nephews.
