Jean Ella Wiggins

Mrs. Jean Ella Wiggins, age 86, of Dahlonega, GA died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Mrs. Wiggins was a born May 18, 1925 in Chattanooga, TN. She had lived in Dahlonega, GA since 1969. She taught school for many years in Whitley County, Kentucky and in Lumpkin County. She was a medical technologist at Chestatee Regional Hospital in Dahlonega for several years. Mrs. Wiggins was a member of Dahlonega United Methodist Church.

She was the daughter of the late Gus Whaley and Emma Jean McKenzie Whaley, and was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Gene Wiggins.

Mrs. Wiggins is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Kathy Wiggins, Boone, NC; daughter, Beth Wiggins, Dahlonega, GA; grandson, Hunter Wiggins. Several other relatives also survive.

A memorial service for Mrs. Wiggins is scheduled for 11 AM Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012 at Dahlonega United Methodist Church.

Rev. Christy Greenwald and Rev. Jeff Ross will officiate.

The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 10 AM until 11 AM on Thursday.
