Hazel L. Funderburk Nix

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson, GA. announces the death of Mrs. Hazel L. Funderburk Nix, age 76, of Pendergrass, who passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012. Mrs. Nix was born in Jackson County, GA, a daughter to the late Albert and Rosa M. Pressley Funderburk. Mrs. Nix was retired from Wayne Poultry was a member of the Pond Fork Baptist Church. Her husband, Billy Nix, brothers, R.L. Funderburk and J.W. Funderburk, and grandson, Justin Nix, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Parson, Commerce, Donald Nix, Ronald Nix and Debbie Gillespie all of Pendergrass, brothers, L.C. Funderburk, of Jefferson, T.W. Funderburk, Gene Funderburk, Johnny Funderburk all of Pendergrass, Larry Funderburk, Jefferson, sisters, Sadie Strange, Covington, Ruby Franklin and Fannie Lance both of Pendergrass. 11 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Pond Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Knight officiating. The burial will follow in the Pond Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 12-9pm and on Friday 9am - 9pm, at the funeral home.
