Katherine Bales Major

Katherine Bales Major, age 76 of Cumming, and lifelong resident of Forsyth County, passed away Friday, December 30, 2011. Katherine was born November 5, 1935 to the late Roy and Edna Bales.

She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She enjoyed play Rook every Friday night, and was easy to talk with, compassionate and had a great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Edna Bales; step-mother, Flora Bales; brother, Billy Bales.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Harold Major of Cumming; daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila and Mike Mastrangelo of Norcross, Debbie and Mark Temple of Cumming; grandchildren, Mandy and Gary Heath of Woodstock, Aaron Temple of Cumming; great grandchildren, Shellbi, Marcus and Jacob; step-sister, Kathleen O'Neal of Jackson, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 2nd at 2:00 pm at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Frazier, Rev. Bud Sutton, Rev. Ronny Bennett and Rev. Jerry McCormick officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and Monday from 9:00 am until hour of service.
