Elsa de la Caridad Fernandez, August 21, 1928 - December 21, 2011. Resident of Cumming, GA. Elsa was born and raised in Havana, Cuba and graduated from El Instituto de la Vibora.
She was the youngest of three children, born to Juan Fernandez and Carmen Cuervo. She was married to Jorge Casales, the love of her life, for 18 years. Elsa forever will be remembered by her four beloved children, Jorge Casales Jr., Dr. Elsa A. Murano, Jesus "Jesse" Casales and Teresita "Terry" Casales, her grandchildren Peter James Casales and Alina Marie Casales, along with countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her. She was very proud of her children. She loved listening and dancing to everything from salsa to contemporary Christian music. Elsa was very quick-witted. Elsa adored people, shopping and old movies.
Elsa's vibrant and loving way about her was evident as she touched the lives of so many people with her beautiful smile and generosity of spirit. She was considered by many their mama, their grandma, their confidant and even their "girlfriend." Everyone who met her fell in love with her instantly.
Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, December 23rd, 2011, from 2 to 4pm and from 6 to 9pm at McDonald & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
