Franklin M. ( Frank ) Smith

Mr. Franklin M. "Frank" Smith, age 69, of Murrayville, Georgia passed away Monday, December 19, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Calvary Cross Baptist Church in Lula, GA with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The Reverend Jerry Orr, Reverend Earl Pirkle and Reverend John Raburn will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith was born in Grove Hill, Alabama on January 28, 1942 and was the son of the late William Odis Smith and Mary Elizabeth (Wilson) Smith. He graduated from Hewitt Trussville High School in Trussville, AL and was a retired truck driver with D-Jay Petroleum. He has lived in Hall County for the past 37 years. He served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Smith was a member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Suzanne Smith; infant son, Arthur Smith; brothers, Nolen, Erby and Bolen Smith; sisters, Helen and Mary; wife, Jeanette Oliver Smith and her parents, Telford and Ruth Oliver and brother-in-law, Telford Oliver, Jr.

Frank is survived by his wife Mildred (Aikens) Smith of Murrayville; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Curtis Hulsey of Cleveland; son, James Smith, Boston, MA; grandson and wife, Riley and Amanda Hulsey; Alapaha; granddaughter and husband, Erin and Chris Thomas, Cleveland; granddaughter, Lindsey Hulsey; great-granddaughter, Joleigh Hulsey, Alapaha; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Bob Iverson, Decatur, AL; sister, Gloria Funderburg, Trussville, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Ann and John Harrison, Thomasville, AL; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Candy Aikens; sister-in-law, Nell Denmon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
