Jean Anderegg Petree

Jean Anderegg Petree, 70, beloved wife and mother peacefully passed away at home in Suwanee, GA on December 16, 2011 after a brief but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. She fought the illness the same way she lived, with dignity, courage, strength and grace.
Jean was born Feb. 6, 1941, in Huntland, TN and grew up in Demopolis, AL. Jean graduated from Birmingham Southern University and then moved to Atlanta where she worked for Eastern Airlines for 10 years. During this time, she met and married her husband of 45 years, Richard. Together they enjoyed many international travels and started their family in 1971 in Roswell, GA. They also began an annual beach vacation with a family of friends that has been going strong for 40 years.
The 1980's were spent in Des Moines, IA raising their two daughters Pam and Stacy. Returning to Georgia in 1993 Jean began excelling at her second career in real estate, achieving, Certified Real Estate Specialist (CRS), Lifetime Member of Atlanta Realtor Board Million Dollar Club and the Phoenix Award.
She was active in her church and community, and was for many years co-chair of the Altar Guild at St. Columba's Episcopal Church in Suwanee which was a joy to her and a true labor of love. Jean will best be remembered for her love of family, friends, and church, as well as her kindness, caring and generosity.
She was predeceased by her parents John C. and Myrtle Matthews Anderegg, brothers Buddy, Joe, and by just a few hours her sister Jane Folsom of Kensington, MD.
She is survived by husband Richard, daughters Pamela of New York City and Stacy of Santa Barbara, CA, brother Jerry Anderegg of Birmingham, AL, brother-in-law Jim Petree of Stockbridge, GA, sister-in-law Sara Simpson of Charlotte, NC, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass will be held Tuesday morning, December 20th, at 11:00 o'clock at St. Columba's Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024 (www.saintcolumba.net) with The Rev. Fr. Tripp Norris, Celebrant. The interment will be private. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 o'clock at Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA 30040 (www.ingramfuneralhome.com).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Columba's Episcopal Church, 939 James Burgess Road, Suwanee, GA 30024.
