Julia Reed Rogers

Mrs.Julia Reed Rogers , age 103, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Bell Manor Nursing Home, following a brief illness.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Friday, December 16, 2011 from the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. David Matthews will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm Thursday, December 15, 2011 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Rogers was born April 11, 1908 to the late Benjamin and Dora Reed and was married to the late William Jefferson Rogers, who passed away in 1981. Mrs. Rogers was a longtime member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church where she was a past pianist and organist. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include son, Herman Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and George Spain; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Betty Rogers; daughter, Vivian Epperson; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Judy Rogers, all of Gainesville; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, 3104 Poplar Springs Church Road, Gainesville, GA 30507.
