Nancy Smith

Mrs. Nancy Smith, age 52, of Gainesville, GA died Monday, December 12, 2011 at her home following a sudden illness.

Nancy was born in Atlanta, grew up in Canton, GA, and had lived in Gainesville for the past 33 years. She was a graduate of Cherokee High School, graduated in the last class at Hall School of Nursing before it became Brenau University School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for over 25 years. Nancy was a loving wife and great loving mother.

She was the daughter of the late Carl Ed Harbin and Mary Wynelle Graham Harbin.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 33 years, Jerry Smith, Gainesville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Lindsay and Ronnie Shanley, Gainesville, GA, Haley and Dwayne Lee, Gainesville, GA; son, Cody Smith, Gainesville, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Louis Lane, Maryville, TN; mother-in-law, Jane Smith and special friend, George Moore, Canton, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debra and Mallory Smith, Reidsville, GA; two nephews and one niece. A number of other relatives also survive.

A memorial service to celebrate Nancy's life will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at 2 PM at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Phil Carpenter, and Rev. J.R. Fields will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 one hour prior to the memorial service and immediately following the memorial service.
