Allen Beavers

Allen Beavers, 58, of Ellijay passed away Saturday December 3, 2011 at Piedmont Hospital following a short illness.

Born November 28, 1953 in Chatsworth, GA to the late Clyde and Ida Mae Beavers, he had lived in Gilmer County for the past 20 years having moved from Dawson County. Mr. Beavers was formerly employed in the poultry industry and was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tabatha Priest.

Surviving are his wife, Margie Reece Beavers, Ellijay; stepchildren, Robert and Tammy Reece, Athens, Brenda Sue Lester, Ellijay, Lori and Bobby Grant, Dawsonville, Becky Hardin, Ellijay, Tony Grindle, Ellijay, Joann and Richard "Jabo" Grizzle, Dahlonega; sister, Jessie Mae Beavers, Eton; several step brothers and sisters; 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday December 6, 2011 at 1 o'clock at Mill Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Rodney Pilcher and Rev. Joseph Simmons will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 9 and all day Monday until 9 at the funeral home.
