Bishop Richard Lee Puckett, age 96, of Gainesville passed away Friday, December 02, 2011. Home going services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 05, 2011, at Mason and Ward Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Edwin Puckett, Rev. Bill Wallen and Rev. James Kanaday officiating and burial in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bishop Puckett has been in ministry over 60 years for Church of God of Prophecy and he always said "Be ready in your heart. I will see you in the rapture, soon".
Survivors include his wife of 75 years, Era C. Puckett of Gainesville; daughter, Ellen Maureen Smith of Gainesville; granddaughter and husband, Sonya and Randy Grindle of Gainesville; grandson and wife, Chris and Karen Smith of Gainesville; grandson, Rick Smith of Lithia Springs; great granddaughter, Heather Smith of Gainesville; great grandson, Justin Smith of Gainesville; brother, Tom Puckett of Snellville; brother and sister in law, Kell and Myrtle Puckett of Cedartown; numerous nieces and nephews.
