Lonnie Walker

Lonnie Walker, age 71, of Dahlonega, GA died Thursday December 1, 2011 at his residence.

Lonnie was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was a retired truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was the son of the late Wiley and Ruby Patton Walker and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Stacey Walker; and a brother, Gene Walker.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Linda Walker, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Mylinda and Bryan Smith, Dahlonega, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Dakota and Courtney Walker, Dahlonega, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Roger Walker, Warren Walker, and Derrell Walker, all of Dahlonega, GA, Morris and Carolyn Walker, Dawsonville, GA; sister, Joan Siemsen, Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Skye and Phillip Sambola, Wendy Rider, and Patton Rider; great-grandchildren, Carson Walker and Carter Rider. Numerous other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell and Rev. Ford Ash will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Yahoola Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Saturday December 3, 2011 from 2 PM until 9 PM.
