Gladys D. Turner

Gladys D. Turner, 98, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday December 1, 2011 at The Oaks at Limestone following an extended illness.

Born January 12, 1913 in McDonough, GA to the late William and Onie Davis, she had lived in Lumpkin County for over 30 years having moved from Powder Springs. Mrs. Turner was employed for many years at Sears in downtown Atlanta after which she worked at Rich's until her retirement.She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawsonville. Gladys was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther J. Turner and several sisters and brothers.

Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Danny and Janette Turner, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Mike and Dana Turner, Ricky Turner; great grandchildren, Brian Turner, Nicholas Turner, and Emma Turner.

Funeral services will be held Saturday December 3, 2011 at 11 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jim Gaines will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
