John Calvin Stamey

John Calvin Stamey, age 72 of Demorest, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born in Habersham County on November 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Claude Charles and Mamie Allen Stamey. Mr. Stamey was employed with Fieldale Corporation as an electrician with 30 plus years of service. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Eddie Stamey.

Survivors include wife, Ella Mae Stancil Stamey of the home; sons, Claude Stamey of the home, Ricky Hopkins of Gainesville and James Hopkins of Alto; daughters, June Bagwell of Greenville, SC, Teresa Ochoa of the home and Jamie Loudermilk of Commerce; sisters, Frances Trotter of Clarkesville, Imo Gene Dawkins of Gainesville, Vera Roberts of Mt. Airy and Lois Zaccaginno of Lompoc, California; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
No formal services for Mr. Stamey are planned at this time.
