Montine, the widow of Albert L. Copeland, passed away Saturday evening, November 26, 2011 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
She was born at home in White County, near Cleveland, GA and lived in Gainesville, GA for the past 70 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert Benjamin "GB" and Molly Oakes Barrett of Cornelia, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, John William and Maude Sosebee Barrett of Cornelia, James Gordon and Virginia Ingram Barrett of Marietta, Charles Edward and Sally Herrin Barrett of Cornelia and Carnesville, Tom Watson Barrett of Gainesville; sisters, Katherine Liza and Sandy Hulsey of Cleveland and Rosa Lee Barrett of Cornelia; and daughter, Betty Eufaula Copeland Beaman of Augusta, GA.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Albert Lake and Ann Waters Copeland of Augusta, Gilbert Eugene and Drucilla Clark Copeland of Charleston, SC, James Michael and Melinda Gibson Copeland of Gainesville; son-in-law Wilbur Beaman of Augusta, daughters-in-law Charlotte Barrett Copeland and Ruth Raven Copeland, both of Gainesville, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bry L. and Blanche Copeland of Stockbridge, GA; sisters-in-law, Necis Fry Copeland and Henrietta Reed Barrett both of Gainesville, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Mrs. Copeland was a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) employed by the Hall County Hospital (now Northeast Georgia Medical Center) for several years, then worked there many years as a Private Duty Nurse. She also managed the old Bell-Minor Nursing Home for several years.
Montine and Albert were active members of the New Bridge Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon, 4:00pm to 8:00 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, North Riverside Chapel, 989 Riverside Drive in Gainesville.
Funeral Services will be at New Bridge Baptist Church on Cleveland Highway, at 11:00 am Tuesday morning. Lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall, after the services. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Reverend Milton Harris will officiate.
