Thelma Dean

Thelma Motes Dean age 87 of Gainesville passed away Nov. 22, 2011 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a brief illness.

Mrs. Dean was born Oct. 16, 1924 in Hall County to the late Early & Ethel Lovell Motes. She was a homemaker and a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church in Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Dean, & a son Kenneth Earl Dean.

Survivors include: son & Daughter in law, Rick & Jane Dean of Gainesville, sons, Ronald Dean of Gainesville, Ray Dean of Gainesville, & Eddie Dean of Gillsville, brothers, Cecil Motes of Gainesville, Travis Motes of Gainesville, & Howard Motes of Gainesville, sister, Jean Turpin of Gainesville, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday Nov. 27, 2011 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robby Ledford & Rev. Junior Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Saturday Nov. 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
