Harold was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Oakwood, GA for over 50 years.
Mr. Vickers was a resident at Mountain View Healthcare Center in Clayton, GA for over a year, where he was striving to recover from years of declining health. There he made many new friends and touched many lives. "Mr. Harold" will be missed by the residents and staff members who grew to love him as family.
Harold was a graduate of South Hall High School. He continued his education earning a Bachelor's degree in Business at the University of Georgia. He worked many diligent years as a transportation accountant in an industry that he was in awe of for his entire 61 years. Mr. Vickers retired from his career due to health complications, but remained very interested in the profession and was very supportive of his wife in her continued work in this field.

Harold was a devoted husband, loving father, father-in-law, and proud grandfather who enjoyed all the time and support of his small, loving family. "Paw Paw" will be sorely missed by the two "babies" that always meant so very much to him. This small family had so much love for each other, that although he will be missed they are rejoicing to know that he is with his Savior in heaven.

JoAnne, Kendra, and family would like to thank Dr. Miriam Gentin for her many years of loving support and dedicated care for Harold. Also, special thanks to the staff of Mountain View Healthcare who loved Harold, and supported him and his family in his effort to rehabilitate and for their kindness and generosity during his declining health. They became part of our family over the past year. The family would like to thank Dr. Easterling for her care during Harold's residency at Mountain View. JoAnne and Kendra give special thanks to Nora Findley, Registered Nurse at Mountain View, who supervised Harold's care, as well as her dedication during his final hours. JoAnne, Kendra, and family would like to thank everyone for keeping them in their thoughts and prayers during their time of need.

Harold was a special person with a kind heart and gentle manner. A special service will be announced at a later date for his memorial.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The American Diabetes Association, Emory Transplant Center: Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program, or The American Cancer Society in Harold's memory.
