Ada Mae Glaze Watkins

Ada Mae Glaze Watkins, age 79, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011.

Mrs. Watkins was born on September 5, 1932, in White County, Georgia. She was a daughter of the late Lester C. and Nezzie Mae House Glaze. Mrs. Watkins was also preceded in death by her husband, James Vernon Watkins; her brothers, Vernon, Rondall, B.L., and A.J. Glaze; and her sisters, Arlene Lane and Ruby Cantrell London. She was a retired employee from Ethicon, a Johnson and Johnson Company, for 34 and a half years. Mrs. Watkins was a member of the Zion Interdenominational Church. She taught Sunday School for 50 years, as well as, Bible School and Youth Camp.

Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Miriam Watkins, Cornelia, GA; son and daughter-in-law, James and Victoria Watkins, Ouha, Hawaii; sisters, Everine Glaze Tomlin, Mt. Airy and Jo Glaze Barrett, Cornelia, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Nell Glaze, Cleveland, GA; and grandchildren, Victor Watkins, Cornelia, GA and Christopher, Meri, and Liz Loo, all of Ouha, Hawaii.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2011, at the Zion Interdenominational Church with Rev. Gary Hefner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2011, at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.

The body will lie in state from 1:30 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
