EDWARD WELDON PERRY
II Corinthian 4:8-9
'We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.' Ed asked why he had to leave this life so early and we believe it is because he has completed the work he was to accomplish and that his Lord is pleased. John 3: 21 'But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God.' Having been anointed with oil by the elders of the church; the prayer of faith relinquished his suffering. Edward walked to glory on October 22nd surrounded by family and friends at his home in Orange Beach, Alabama, blessed with His presence and mercy. John 16: 33 "I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

Son of Barbara and Edward Perry (deceased), brother to David and Lela Perry (Cleveland), father to Chandra Perry (Flowery Branch) and Christa Perry (Gainesville), grandfather to Brandon Bolding (Gainesville) and husband to Judith Evans (Oakwood), Edward began his life in Princeton New Jersey. As the son of an Air Force officer, he moved often and named Boston, Taiwan and Duluth Minnesota as his favorite homes each with cherished memories.

Edward moved his young family from Duluth to Gainesville Georgia in 1976 and worked for Ninth District Work Opportunity, Sound Shop, Lanier Park Hospital and Hall County Schools, then upon graduating from the Medical College of Georgia began his career in Occupational Therapy. Ed practiced his profession in several north Georgia school systems, through Babies Can't Wait, home health agencies, private clinics and more recently Wildwood, Gold City and Friendship Nursing Homes. His family at Friendship sustained him, enriched his life and brought him great happiness and joy.

His dry humor, compassion for others and love of family, friends, music, storytelling and mischief making defined who he was as a man. Once befriended you would remain in his circle forever. As a child of God his daughters and grandson were his gift and reward for having served Him well. If you knew Ed, you have already recalled a time that will bring a smile, a trivia fact, or an incident that left you wondering. "I may never be perfect, but I will always be unique." Matthew: 5:16 'In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.'

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by Trey Attaway (Flowery Branch) and daughter Emma; Cain Tullis (Flowery Branch) and daughter Macy; Michael and Laura Bragg (Macon) children, Bradley, Brittany and Dan; Melanie and Jeff House (Plymouth) children Tenley and Peter; Lupita and Ricky Evans (Atlanta) children Lexley, Mark and Matthew Sebastian (Marietta); Mark Evans (Atlanta); Mary Beth Bennet (Flowery Branch) and niece Leah Perry (Flowery Branch). Very special friends, Michael Lyght (Minneapolis), Gary Geving (San Francisco); Jimmy Collins (Perry); Bob Klassen (Gainesville), Ray and Debbie Gonzalez (Baton Rouge); Lisa Hulsey (Gainesville); Lisa Glover (Dawsonville), Heather Allen (Cleveland) and Officer Cat (Oakwood).

A celebration of Edward's life will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Riverside Drive Gainesville, Georgia. Bishops George Wangemann and Michael Riemann will officiate. Immediately following the service, the family invites friends to join them at Riverside Park, Riverside Drive.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any love offerings be given to Friendship Nursing Home Activities Program: 161 Friendship Road Cleveland, GA 30528. The family wishes to express their deepest respect and appreciation to United Hospice of Northeast Georgia, Mason Transplant Clinic of Piedmont Hospital, and Community Hospice of Baldwin County Alabama.
