Alvin Francis Simons

Alvin Francis Simons, age 93, of Murphy, NC formerly of Turnerville, GA, passed away Monday, October 24, 2011.

Born in Prattsburgh, New York on July 13, 1918, he was the son of the late Allen G. and Bertha Dillenbeck Simons.
Mr. Simons was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, GA and was a farmer and upholsterer with the State Hospital of New York.

Survivors include wife, Grace Covert Simons of Murphy, NC; son, Ray Stewart Simons of Highpoint, NC; daughter, Phyllis Janosko of Murphy, NC; sisters, Clara Babcock and Esther Damboise both of Prattsburgh, NY; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Memorial services are 2:00 pm Saturday, November 12, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church of Clarkesville, GA with Rev. Lisa Graves officiating.
