R.W. "Cotton" Holmes, age 73 of Buford, GA died Friday, October 21, 2011 after an extended illness. Cotton was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Holmes. Children, Keith Holmes, Roger Holmes and Debbie Holmes. As one of thirteen children he was also preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Surviving are Son, Phillip Hopper, Dunlap, TN. Son and Daughter In-law, Ray and Jill Holmes, Corpus Cove, TX. Son, Rodney Dale Holmes, Huston, TX. Daughter, Kim Holmes and James Wright, Buford, GA. Daughter and Son In-law, Andie and Edgar Delgado, Kennesaw, GA. Nineteen Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren. Brothers, Paul Holmes, Pell City, AL. Jack Holmes, AK. John Holmes, FL. Sister and Brother In-law, Sarah and Jim Dilbeck, Sharpsburg, GA. Cotton was a native of Pell City, AL and had lived in the Atlanta area the past 43 years. He was a retired truck driver with Viking Transportation. He was known by many friends and enjoyed the fellowship at the Waffle House Breakfast Club.
