Vonell Edmondson Chastain

Vonell Edmondson Chastain, 71, of Dawsonville passed away Thursday October 20, 2011 at her residence following a sudden illness.

Born September 13, 1940 to the late Vergil and Mary Edmondson, she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Chastain was preceded in death by her husband, James E. "Jim" Chastain.

Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Vickie and Stanley Allen, Marble Hill; sons and daughter in law, Jimmy Chastain, Dawsonville, Freddie Chastain, Marble Hill, Ricky and Tabatha Chastain, Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Yvonne and Preston Sanders, Dawsonville, Brondell and Len Arnold, Canton; grandchildren, David Chastain, Scott Chastain, Rhonda Chastain, Ashley Albano, Emma Allen, Morgan Chastain; great grandchildren, Gracee Chastain, Blake Chastain, Ryker Day, Camden Chastain; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday October 24, 2011 at 2 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jason Hamby, Rev. Russell Burt, and Rev. Hugh Fields will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dawsonville Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 Sunday at the funeral home.
