Pearl Gibson Farmer

Pearl Gibson Farmer, 78, of Clarkesville, passed away on October 18, 2011 at her residence after enduring a long period of declining health.

She was the daughter of the late Wiley and Dora ( Mason) Gibson of Hayesville, North Carolina.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Farmer; sisters Mae Chastain and Cloe York; brothers, Clay, Clyde and Claude Gibson and special nephew James York.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Janie and Jimmy Thompson, Cornelia; sons and daughter-in-laws, Tommy and Kim Farmer, Toccoa, Keith and Sharon Farmer, Woodstock; grandchildren, Scott and Bonnie Sanders, Stacey and Russ Couch; great-grandchildren, Dustin Sanders and Ashlyn Couch; step-grandchildren, Donna and Tim Fleming, Michael Cheek, Cindy Carpenter, Krissy Zimmerman and Johnathan Zimmerman; step-great grandchildren, Callie, Kimberly and Mackenzie Fleming, Christy Carpenter and Michelle Thompson; loving sister-in-law Linda Gibson who stood by her until the end. A number of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. A very special friend for 30+ years Rosetta Densmore. God sent four angels to care for her in her last days Joyce, Vickie, Liz and Mary, a true blessing.

She retired from Scovill Fasteners. She was a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church.

The family would like to acknowledge Hospice Nurses Sandra Lane and Mark Segers as well as the staff of Tugalo Home Health for their kindness, compassion and care during our Mother's sickness

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 9 pm

Services will be held Friday October 21, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Alexander Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Danny Jarrard and Rev. Michael Clark officiating.

Interment will follow at Crescent Hill Baptist Church. Flowers will be acknowledged or memorials may be made to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center Fund , 743 Spring St., Gainesville, Georgia 30501-9841 in honor of Pearl Farmer.
