Hilliard A. Jones

Hilliard A. "Deacon" Jones, 87, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday October 16, 2011 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Born July 23, 1924 in Decatur, GA to the late Fred and Mary Webb, he had been a resident of Dawsonville for the past 20 years. Mr. Jones was a proud veteran of both the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force. He retired from Kraft Foods where he worked many years as a machinist and was an avid gardener. He was preceded in death by two sisters and nine brothers.

Surviving are his daughters, Janice Kohler, Dawsonville, Joyce Brown, Cumming; grandchildren, Jason Lunsford, Christina Dugger, Dale Kohler; brother and sister in law, Ned and Geraldine Jones, Conyers; six great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday October 19, 2011 at 2:30 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 noon Wednesday at the funeral home.
