Brian Richard Yount

Obituary Date: Saturday, October 8, 2011
Brian Richard Yount, 44, of Flowery Branch, Georgia passed away at home on October 8, 2011, after long health struggles.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from the Chapel at Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park South Cemetery. Reverend Jeff Crook will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2011.

Brian was born in Florence, S.C. on March 2, 1967. Graduating from Hartsville High School in 1986, he played trumpet in the marching Red Foxes band. He loved the orange and purple of Clemson University and graduated from there in 1991. He worked in the insurance industry as a claims adjuster for many years.

Brian was the loving husband of Zulma Yount and the proud father of 4 year old David. He is also survived by his parents Dick and Jo Anne Yount of Harstville, SC; mother-in-law Leonor Pinzon of Flowery Branch; brothers and their spouses Mark and Pat Yount of Lilburn, GA, Greg and Dot Yount of Snellville, GA; niece Erin Yount Dickinson; and nephews Chris, James and Jeffrey Yount

A large circle of people counted him a fierce and loyal friend, whether childhood friends, high-school classmates that he saw on a regular basis, members of his church and Sunday School, or the doctors and nurses that saw him thru some difficult years. He was a faithful member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church and never missed an opportunity to share his testimony of faith in Christ. Though he had been thru many struggles, overcoming cancer at age 19 and battling the resulting heart disease for the past 4 years, he never ceased to have a joyful and optimistic outlook on life. He took great joy in living every day
