Willie Tom Slater

Ivie Funeral Home of Commerce announces services for Willie Tom Slater, 73, of Commerce, who passed away Friday morning, October 7, 2011, at his residence.

Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Paul James and Minne Mae Gee Slater. He was also preceded in death by his wife Hazel Kitchens Slater.

Survivors include his siblings Barbara McEver, Gertrude McDaniel, Clifford Slater and Johnny Slater, all of Commerce, and Dorothy Kitchens of Hull, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, October 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce with the Rev. John Webber, the Rev. Donald Wilson and the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00-9:00 p.m.
