LaVonne M. Free

Mrs. LaVonne M. Free, age 70, of Flowery Branch, Georgia, passed away Friday, October 07, 2011 at her residence following a brief illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 pm Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. The Reverend Harold Pettyjohn, Dr. Tom Smiley and Dr. Jerry Gill will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 pm Sunday, October 9, 2011 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Free was born in Dahlonega, Georgia. She was a member of the Church of God of Dahlonega. LaVonne and her husband Steve were very devoted to each other. They successfully owned and operated Best Linen Services for 50 years. She loved her children and her grandchildren, they were the light of her life. She will be missed by her family and friends and has left us with a love to always remember. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Steve W. Free, Jr.; her parents, Ernest Ledford and Louise Gilstrap Ledford; grandson Scotty Free, Jr. and a brother, Eddie Ledford.

LaVonne is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Boyd Strickland; Lesia and Thadd Wallace and Kim and Scott Robertson all of Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve W. and Donna Free, III; Scotty E. and Barbie Free all of Gainesville; Rodney W. and Dawn Free of Lawrenceville; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Willodean Ledford of Dahlonega; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Robbie and Tommy Casteel of Murrayville; and sister-in-law, Edith Alford of Dahlonega.
