John Martin Jr.

Mr. John Martin Jr. was born January 27, 1951 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Mrs. Lottrell Bell and Mr. John A. Martin Sr. John made his transition to eternal life early Sunday morning, October 2, 2011, following a brief illness. John attended the Fair Street Elementary & Butler High Schools. He joined First Baptist Church at an early age. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Miss Sarah Johnson.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sarah Martin-Gardner and grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Addie Bell & U.S. Martin.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories; his loving and devoted wife of 34 years; Mrs. Sarah Johnson-Martin, six daughters; Mrs. Beverly (Harold) Gray, Mrs. Tammy (Donnie) Gaines of Hartwell, Ga, Ms. Stephanie and Swan Martin, Mrs. Shawanna (Ronald) Clemons and Mrs. Cynthia (Donell) Davis , all of Gainesville, Ga, brothers; Mr. Anthony () Robinson of Ohio, Mrs. Dennis (Marie) Robinson, Mr. James( Carolyn) Robinson, Mr. Nathaniel (Michelle) Bell, Mr. Jonathan (Angela) Bell all of Gainesville, Ga, Mr. Larry Martin of Jacksonville, FL and Mr. U.S. Martin of Atlanta, Ga, sisters; Mrs. Rebecca Addison of Carrollton, Ga, Ms. Mary Ann Martin of Jacksonville, FL, sisters-in-law; Ms. Elizabeth Harper, Clara (William) Montgomery and Virginia Johnson, all of Hartwell, Ga, 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives & friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 7-8pm at the Wimberly & Jackson Chapel, 325 Summit Street, Gainesville, Ga 30501, 770-536-3251

Funeral will be held Thursday, October 6, 2011 at 2pm at the First Baptist Church, MLK BLVD, Gainesville, Ga.
