Charles David Armour
Obituary Date: Monday, October 3, 2011
Charles David Armour, age 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully on October 3, 2011, after an extended illness. Son of the late Hance and Beulah Leach Armour, Charles was born March 3, 1936 in the Belton Bridge area of Lula, Georgia. He was a member of Straightway Baptist Church and praised his Lord until his passing.
A man of many trades, Charles worked in construction, logged pulpwood, hauled autos and as a maintenance man at Gress Foods. Later in life, his passion became antique trading where he had a booth at Merle Long's Flea Market in Helen, Georgia. In his spare time and after retirement Charles enjoyed gardening, playing his guitar and accordion, singing the many songs he learned by ear. His most treasured time was spent in the outdoors with his family and friends hunting and fishing. During a lifetime of hunting he instilled his knowledge of the outdoors in his children and grandchildren, making memories that will be etched in their hearts forever.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Worley and brother, Claude Armour.
Mr. Armour is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ruby Inez Armour, daughters, Carol and husband, Duane Roberts, Stacey Fuller and fiancé, Donnie Rogers, sons, Charles "Andy" and wife, Catie Armour, Royce Gee & Tim Loggins. His is also survived by his sisters, Susie Bruce, Christine Alexander, Kate Motes, Rena Honeycutt, Elore Cash and brothers, Woodrow Armour, R.B. Armour and Harmon Armour. Leaving also a legacy of great love and wisdom to his grandchildren; Jennifer Phillips, Quest Loggins, Brent Loggins, Kyle Loggins, Trey Fuller, Bridget Armour, Trandy Teal and Bronson Armour, 9 great grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and other family members.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 and Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 6
