Steven Kyle Martin

Steven Kyle Martin, age 22, of Dahlonega, GA died October 1, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Hall County.

Kyle graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 2007. He went to NASCAR Technical Institute for two years and graduated in 2010. He joined the Marine Corps in June of 2011 and was leaving for boot camp in February 2012 to become an aviation mechanic. After graduation in May he was to be wed to his fiancée of eight and a half years. He enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturdays and the NASCAR races on Sunday with his future father-in-law, playing with his nephew, Jackson, mud bogging with his buddy, Cody, playing video games with his brother, Cody, catfishing with his father, brother, Austin, and sister, Cheyenne. He also liked lowering trucks, working on cars, and spending as much time as he could with his fiancée. He loved so many and touched so many hearts. He is so loved and will never be forgotten.

Kyle was preceded in death by grandparents, Ken and Peggy Martin, James Wesley Cantrell, and Harry White.

He is survived by his mother, Beverly Martin, Dahlonega, GA; father and step-mother, Steven & Melissa Martin, Dahlonega, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Leann and Eric Thomas, Cleveland, GA, Gracie Huffmann and Cheyenne West, both of Dahlonega; brothers; Cody Blake Martin and Austin West, both of Dahlonega; fiancé, Brittany Anderson, Dahlonega; grandmothers, Mary Lois Cantrell, Dahlonega, Joann White, Bandy, VA; nephew, Jackson Thomas. A large number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Kyle are scheduled for 4 PM Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the Town Creek Baptist Church in White County.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell, Rev. Phillip Robinson, and Rev. Casey Robinson will officiate.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Tuesday from 5 PM until 9 PM, all day on Wednesday, and again on Thursday until the time of service.
