Andrew Gantt

Andrew "Jake" Gantt, age 84, a lifelong resident of Cumming, passed away Monday, September 26, 2011. He was the manager of the Doraville baseball team and loved baseball. He also loved bowling and the outdoors. Jake loved working and at one time owned a sawmill. He was a Mason with the 444 Lodge in Chamblee, GA. He is preceded in death by his son, Roger Allen and his parents, Henry and Laura Mae Gantt and his brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Gantt; sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Sherry Gantt, Joe R. and Flora Gantt all of Cumming; grandchildren, Bobby Gantt Jr., Becky Gantt, Lisa Johnson, Michelle Kirby, Keith Brumbelow, Christina Green, Robert Atkinson; 18 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Richie Brown and Rev. Hugh Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until hour of service at the funeral home.
