Phillip Rider

Mr. Phillip Rider, age 52, of Dahlonega, GA died Thursday, September 15, 2011, at his home following an extended illness.

Phillip was a native and lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He was employed by the City of Dahlonega for several years and also worked in the construction industry.

He was the son of the late Boyd and Cindy Rider and was also preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Rider and Timmy Rider.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Cathy Rider, Dahlonega, GA; children, Kevin Rider, Chris Rider, Anthony Rider, Scott Rider, Tim Satterfield, Ethan Allen, and Victor Allen, Amanda Rider, Alisha Rider, and Daphne Allen, all of Dahlonega; brothers, Richard Rider and Stevie Rider, both of Dahlonega; sisters, Judy Shubert, Dawsonville, GA, Terri Day, London, KY, and Jennifer Atkins, Dahlonega. 18 grandchildren and a large number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4 PM Sunday, September 18, 2011 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Saturday from 2 PM until 9 PM.
