James Whitman Beaubien

Mr. James Whitman. "Jim" Beaubien, age 79, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2011 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, September 17, 2011 at St. Michael Catholic Church with interment to follow at 3:00 pm at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. A Rosary service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2011 at the church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.

Jim was born in Detroit, Michigan, June 11, 1932 and was the son of the late Albert J. Beaubien and Martha Grace Whitman Beaubien. He served in the United States Army Reserve and retired as a Command Sgt. Major after 35 years. He also retired from Bellsouth after 40 years of service. Jim lived in Atlanta for 35 years and has lived in Gainesville for the past 25 years. He was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Gainesville and was active as a lector trainer and in the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia E. Beaubien of Gainesville; daughter and fiancé, Susan Beaubien and Alex Whiddon of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, John Michael and Debra Beaubien of Norcross and a brother, Jack Beaubien of Snellville.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the St. Vincent De Paul Society 1440 Pearce Circle Gainesville, GA 30501.
