Katie Wasson Frech

Katie Wasson Frech, age 92, of Cornelia, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at her residence.

Born in Plant City, FL on August 14, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Walter Herman and Zora Ethel Brown Wasson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Laura Ethel Frech; six brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Frech lived most of her life in St. Augustine, FL until moving to Habersham 6 years ago. She was a long time member of St. Augustine Church of Christ. Mrs. Frech was actively involved in many areas including; volunteer at Greater Atlanta Christian School, camp nurse at Inagehi Christian Camp in Atlanta, and house parent at Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School in Florida. She also spent one year in Africa as a medical missionary.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William P. and Linda Frech of Cornelia(Linda was also her loving care giver); a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Wayne Underwood of Newnan, GA; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Woodrow Wasson of Nashville, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins in the St. Augustine area.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in St. Augustine, FL.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mt. Dora Christian Home and Bible School, 301 13th Avenue, Mt. Dora, FL 32757.
