Jason Christopher Denny "JD" was 36 years old and lived in Canton, Ga. Jason died September 3rd 2011 in Canton from a car accident.
Jason was born on November 22nd 1974 in Youngstown, OH. His parents are Michael and Barbara Denny and brother Michael. Jason attended and graduated from Poland Seminary High School in Poland, OH outside Youngstown, where he was a Regional Golden Gloves Boxing champion in 1993. Jason enlisted in the United States Army on August 8th 1993 and upon completion of basic training, and Airborne School he was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC with the 82nd Airborne Division were he had attended and graduated from the United States Army Ranger School earning his Ranger tab, the Army's premier leadership course. Jason then attended and graduated the Ranger Indoctrination Program for the 75th Ranger Regiment at Ft. Benning, GA. Jason was then assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia where he served honorably. His awards and decorations include the Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge (Airborne Wings), German Armed Forces Parachutist Badge, Army commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, Expert Infantry Badge. Jason held the position of Rifleman, Grenadier, Machine Gunner and Fire Team Leader earning the rank of Sergeant. Jason served until July 26th 1998.
Jason was an avid sports fan and loved to entertain and hang out with his close friends and family which made him most comfortable. Jason enjoyed exercising and being outdoors. Jason was very patriotic and on March 6th 2001 along with two other Rangers walked 750 miles from Ranger Headquarters at Ft. Benning, GA to Washington, DC in support of the Ranger Regiment keeping their black beret in a time when the whole Army was going to be issued the black beret.
Jason possessed a desire and skill for leading others that allowed him to rise to the top of multiple Corporate companies, lastly holding the position of Vice President of Sales. His ability to create teams and provide them with the purpose, direction, and motivation to achieve results was respected and requested throughout his career. Jason's most dominating strength was his Loyalty to his family and friends. His Charity and Selfless service to those he cared for made him a close friend to many.
Jason Christopher Denny is survived by his parents Michael and Barbara Denny and older brother Michael Denny who he admired and looked up to. Jason left behind his girlfriend Nichole Krilla and their two beloved pit bulls.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011, at the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home, Dahlonega, GA.
