Lillian Payne Coleman

Lillian Payne Coleman, age 81, of Mt. Airy Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at a local medical center.

Mrs. Coleman was born in Hall County, on November 12, 1929, to the late John Garney and Zora Isabella Carrol Payne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Lamar Coleman, Sr.; son, Louis Ronnie Coleman; two brothers; one sister; a grandson, Clayton Lee Coleman; and one great-grandson, Andrew Reese Coleman. Mrs. Coleman was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church. She was a license practical nurse and a private duty nurse. Mrs. Coleman was employed in Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Stephens County Hospital, and Habersham Medical Center. She was formerly employed with Dr. McNeely's office in Toccoa, Georgia with many years of service. She was president of the Licensed Practical Nurse Association and received Nurse of the Year Award.



Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Jerry Elrod, Clarkesville, GA, Janice and David Green, Demorest, GA and Sue and Robert Chastain, Mt. Airy, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Lamar and Denise Coleman, Cornelia, GA, Rex and Marsha Coleman, Mt. Airy, GA; son Jimmy Coleman, Mt. Airy, GA; brother, Arvin Payne, Atlanta, GA; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.



Funeral services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10, 2011, from the Glade Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Justus and Rev. Chris Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
