Mr. David "Butch" DeLong, 55, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, September 2, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born in Macon, GA on December 24, 1955 he was the son of the late Charles and Thelma Clark DeLong. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his children's mother, Rhonda Nichols DeLong. Mr. DeLong was employed with Macklanburg Duncan in Gainesville.
Mr. DeLong is survived by his son, Chad DeLong of Gainesville; son and partner, Shane DeLong and Duane Brooks of Lawrenceville; cousin, David Hawkins of Gainesville and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday September 5, 2011 at Rock Hill Congregational Holiness Church. Rev. Michael Clark, Rev. Phil Clark and Rev. Philip Wehunt will officiate. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Sunday September 4, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Mr. DeLong will lie in state at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
