Rhonda Victoria Forrester Rice

Obituary Date: Thursday, September 1, 2011
Mrs. Rhonda Victoria "Vickie" Forrester Rice, age 60, of Gainesville went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 1, 2011 following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 4, 2011 at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The Reverend Dean Bryant and Mr. Jack Sanders will officiate. Internment will follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Saturday, September 3, 2011 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm.

Vickie was born on February 12, 1951 to the late B.D. and Hazel Forrester. She attended and graduated from South Hall High School. After graduation Vickie went to work for the Big Star Food Store where she stayed for 20 years before becoming an associate with Home Depot for 17 years. Vickie was of the Baptist faith and attended Free Chapel Worship Center.

In addition to her parents Vickie was preceded in death by her brothers Rickey Forrester, Sandy Forrester; and sister& brother-in-law J.T. & Sharon Gresham.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Hugh Rice of Gainesville; stepdaughters and husbands: Sherrie and John Ripley, Donna and James Mercer; stepson and wife Jamie and Ronni Rice; sister and brother-in-law Shirley and John Buffington; sister-in-law Elizabeth Forrester; brothers and sisters-in-law Sam and Charlotte Forrester, Jerry and Jane Forrester, Phil and Vickie Forrester; brothers Edd Forrester and Ben Forrester; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dan and Joann Rice; sisters-in-law Jane Tidwell, Judy Odom and Ann Donehoo; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rue Nell and Richard Pair and Peggy and Mac Hughes; Seven step grandchildren; nine great step grandchildren; aunts and uncles Claudette & Lamar Lathem, Sarah & Charles Garrett, R.L. & Gearldine Savage, Marvin & Annie Jane Savage, Bob Savage and Lewis Savage; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special Thank You to the nurses who cared for her from Hospice of Northeast Georgia: Mary Elizabeth Sever, Haley McAllister, Becky Hooper and Margaret English.
