Mary Ruth Nix

Mary Ruth Nix age 92 of Cleveland passed away Monday August 29, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.

Mrs. Nix was born March 21, 1919 in White County to the late Guy Clopton and Flora Autry Dorsey. She was a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Glen Nix, son, Jerry Nix, and grandson, Adam Nix.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Kenneth Brooks, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Dickie and Beth Nix, Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Barbara Nix, Cleveland; grandchildren, Jan and Clark McDonald; Ken and Dixie Brooks; Jeffery Nix and Denise Thomas; Mary Beth and Scott Blair; Kari and Dr. James Murphy, all of Cleveland; 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren; special caregiver, Nellie Brooks, Cleveland;

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 31, 2011 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Nanci Hicks and Mrs. Barbara Head will officiate. Interment will follow in Mossy Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
