Billy Fred Griffin, Sr.

Mr. Billy Fred Griffin, Sr., age 71, of Athens, GA died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Griffin was born in Banks County, GA to the late Barnell and Eva Redman Griffin. Mr. Griffin was a member of Galilee Christian Church and was the former CEO of Fresh Frozen Foods. In addition to his parents, Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his brother, Barney Griffin and sister, Janie Griffin.

Mr. Griffin is survived by his sons, Billy Griffin, Jr. of Athens and Barry Griffin of Centreville, VA; daughters, Angela McKinney of Jefferson and Andrea Cook of Talmo; brothers, Bobby Griffin of Athens and Jerry Griffin of Oakwood; sisters, Joyce Griffin of Maysville, Martha Cotton of Homer and Wilma Abney of Kennesaw; special friend, Barbara Lavender of Athens; and thirteen grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, August 27, at Grove Level Baptist Church with Rev. Verlin Reece officiating. Interment will follow in Grove Level Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 3 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to an organization of one's choice.
