Horace L. Whitmire

Horace L. "Hoss" Whitmire, age 76, a lifelong resident of Cumming, passed away Friday, August 12, 2011. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church. Horace was a loving and caring man of God. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Whitmire; parents, Lendon and Jessie Whitmire and daughter-in-law, Vicki Whitmire.



Survivors include his loving wife, Barbara Whitmire of Cumming; children, Donnie (Becky) Whitmire of Cumming, Lynne (Jimmy) Thomason of Cumming, Terry (Kim) Whitmire of Dahlonega, Kelly (Tonya) Whitmire of Dawsonville, Dale (Charles) Flynn of Cumming, Joe (Patricia) Jenkins of Dawsonville, Donna (Billy) Adams of Cumming, Susan (Rodney) Goss of Buford, Kenny Voyles of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Larry Rollins of Ellijay; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.



Funeral services will be held Monday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Grinstead, Rev. David Skinner, Rev. Robbie Mathis, Rev. Jack Pilcher and Rev. Allen Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 9 and on Monday from noon until hour of service at the funeral home.
