Sarah Major Jenkins

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 13, at Cools Springs Baptist Church for Mrs. Sarah Major Jenkins, 65, of Mableton, who passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011 following a brief illness. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The Rev. Dean Townley and Rev. Franklin Grant will officiate. Interment will be in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Formerly of Hall County, she was most recently a resident of Cobb County. She was the daughter of the late Lloyd T. and Mae Haynes Major. She was a homemaker and a member of Cools Springs Baptist Church. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, she will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Major and sister, Mary Sally Bruce.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene T. Jenkins of Smyrna, daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jamie Carranco of Mableton; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Mary Majors; son, Wesley Furgerson; sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Joel Balderas; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Dianne Major, John and Jeanette Major, Jim and Laura Majors all of Gainesville; 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
