Fannie Lee Gravitt

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Fannie Lee Gravitt, 84, of Sautee-Nacoochee. Mrs. Gravitt passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following a period of declining health.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm. Friday, August 12, 2011, at the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Trotter and the Rev. Teddy Allen officiating. Burial will follow at Chattahoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery in Robertstown.

Born in White County on November 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ernest Brock and the late Gertrude Cantrell Brock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Gravitt; daughter, Lois Couch; brothers, Thomas Brock and J.B. Brock; and sisters, Mozelle York and Evelyn Brock.

She was a lifelong resident of White County.

Survivors include her son-in-law, William T. Couch of Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Iris and Robert Loggins of Sautee, Martha and Gary Chastain of Sautee, Patricia and Ricky Barrett of Clarkesville, Eloise and Anthony Dills of Sautee; stepdaughter, Catherine Cowart of Cumming; brother, Edwin Brock of Clarkesville; sister, Maonia Coker of Clarkesville; 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm
