Reba Wright Mathis

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Reba Wright Mathis, age 84, of Jefferson, GA. who passed away Sunday August 7, 2011 after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Mathis was born in Jefferson, Georgia, a daughter of the late Jim and Ila Gee Wright. Mrs. Mathis was retired from the Jefferson Mills and was a member of Oconee Baptist Church.

Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Elmo Mathis and a brother, J.W. Wright.

Survivors include her sister, Lois Edwards of Jefferson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday August 10, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Carlan officiating. Interment will be at Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce, Ga. with Justin Weeks, Jesse Fowler, Jay Fowler, Todd Samples, Gid Samples and George Mathis honored as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday August 9, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the funeral home.
