James Edward Stephens

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. James Edward Stephens, 69, of Jefferson who passed away Thursday August 4, 2011.

Mr. Stephens was born in Maysville, Georgia the son of the late Waymon and Lola Jordan Stephens. Mr. Stephens served in the United States Army. Mr. Stephens was retired from Goodyear as a salesman. Mr. Stephens was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday August 6, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Mealor and Rev. Karl Mealor officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Baptist Church Cemetery in Maysville, Ga. The family will receive friends on Saturday August 6, 2011 from 4PM until the hour of the service.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers in law, Eunice and Rev. Jesse Mealor, Jefferson, Ga. and Montine and Lloyd Akins, Sr. of Jefferson, Ga. two nieces, Five nephews, 9 great nieces and nephews, and one great great niece.
