Mildred Smith Lewallen

Mildred Smith Lewallen, age 84, of Clarkesville, GA passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011.

Born in Stephens County, GA on August 06, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Allen Buford and Minnie Maggie Voyles Smith. Mrs. Lewallen assisted with the bookkeeping for her late husband's business, Lewallen Trucking. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, enjoyed doing volunteer work and was a Girl Scout Leader. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Haskell Edward Lewallen.

Survivors include; sons and daughters-in-law, Sanders and Elaine Lewallen of Albany, GA, Wallace and Donna Lewallen of Clarkesville and Darryl and the late Doris Lewallen of Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Tim Hall of Clarkesville; she was the last member of her immediate family; five grandchildren, Kimberly Lewallen of Macon, Jamie Poteat of Helen, Kristy Lewallen of Clarkesville, Taylor Hall of Clarkesville and Lauren Hall of Clarkesville; three step grandchildren, Amanda Slagle of Gainesville, Tony Lacey of Gainesville and Brittany Nava of Clarkesville; four great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are 11:00 am Tuesday, August 02, 2011 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Tony Goss and Sanders Lewallen officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 pm on Monday.
